I like serial commas, fireflies, bold patterns, cities, advice columns, long walks, museums, menus, learning about a lot of things and teaching about some. Always thinking about my next meal. She/her.
Storycubes are great as a drawing prompt for a kid who doesn’t always know what to draw or write about. Pairs well with a set of markers and a sketchbook: www.storycubes.com/en/

Brio-style trains, a marble run (I like the V-Tech one), the matching edition of Zingo, Dinosaur Escape game, an easel (the Melissa and Doug one is great).

I’m always happy to hop on a call to chat about the career path—feel free to DM anytime! (Also picked up your book and am looking forward to reading it!)

Have you considered teaching center positions? PODnetwork.org has a job board, and it’s a way to do work that’s connected to teaching but is a staff gig. Lots of us are humanities PhDs (or ABD like me). It’s tough out there, and I’m sorry you’re going through it.

I’ve now lived half my life away from Michigan and think about Meijer’s every day. Imagine what great things I could do if I could just go to one store to get everything I need instead of going to several stores.
