Author of THE CATAPHRACT OATH, a swashbuckling clockpunk mecha adventure!

Ask me about giant robot cartoons or obscure TTRPGs or kung fu movies or food history or sci fi/fantasy novels and I will talk your ear off.

He/Him

Arguably the best Marc.
The irony being, I'm on the library wait list for both releases, so folks who are far more excited about either title are gonna get to 'em first.

So ... Blasphemous meets Resident Evil? I dig it.

(Blasphemous is gonna be my go-to for Spanish Catholic Horror video games from now on, but it's not like there's a lot of those to draw from that I'm aware of).

Fuck "What's your Harry Potter House," normalize "Who's your favorite X-Man?"

I'm fully aware it's apples and oranges, but I keep on comparing Lady Fenvale from my book with Alexander from yours.

Like, I think she could take him. She's got reach, a heavier sword, and she fights dirty.

Alexander's by far the better dresser, though.

Victor Brinden is an engineer by trade, which means that if he's got to fight directly, something has gone terribly, terribly wrong. He could theoretically swing a wrench or something, but it's not ideal.

Lady Fenvale, however, is a skilled swordswoman and soldier. Who owns a giant robot, to boot.

I mean, betting against the second coming is the only logical option. If it (as is most likely) doesn't happen? You get paid. And if it -does- happen, your bank account is one of the last things you'll be worried about.

Legitimately one of the best books I read in 2025. You're in for a treat!

Albeit a treat with a lot of poop jokes.

I mean, isn't this basically genderflipped Nero Wolfe?

(This is not a complaint, mind).

Which just goes to show how shittily pervasive this stuff is! Maybe I've been lucky, maybe I've been hiding under a rock, or maybe I'm an iconoclast, as I've mostly avoided the worst of the AI bullshit thus far.

But this? This is personal.

The BAREST of silver linings is that it's not actually delving into the repertoire of various camp songs (including the filthy ones that were sung when no campers were about).

But still, it's sub-Creed AI-generated riffs with generic-ass lyrics with specific camp names Mad-libbed in. Awful.
