Text Panel 1 - I often have to deal with a lot of transphobia in my family. But it’s the kind that’s kept quiet.
Me - “Dang I feel like a pretty boy today!”
Mum - “No you don’t”
Me - What the actual hell?
There’s of course the comments
Text Panel 2 - But there’s also the denial.
Mum - “I don’t want you using that name around the family. How do you think I’ll feel when I have to tell everyone you’re going back to [deadname] later?”
Me - “I’m not planning on changing it back…”

Text Panel 3 - The usual ignorance,
Mum - “Why do you have to make everything about the lgbt? Can’t you make friends outside the community? If you surround yourself with only these people, you’ll never get your views challenged.”
Me - “I have friends who are straight”
Dad - “Yeah but they’re still supportive of it”
Text Panel 4 - and the added layer of religion.
Mum - “You can’t expect me to accept you when it goes against everything we believe in.”

Text Panel 5 - But then it’s brought up with doctors or people not in their religion, it’s a completely different story.
Mum - “Oh we’re all just trying to get used to it. We accept whatever she decides to do with her life, we just want her to be safe.”
Text Panel 6 - It gets hard at times, but I have to remind myself that it’s not forever. Soon I’ll be out of home, I’ll be able to freely transition. Soon, I’ll be able to be unapologetically myself.

I got myself a makeshift binder recently (two sports bras) and I’ve been feeling so much happier now. Definitely didn’t happy cry in the changing room when testing if it would work haha. I love being able to look at myself and see a boy there <3

@coderarts from Unvale suggested Cooper should draw a spider on his binder, he likes it a lot! Even if no one sees it while on patrol, it’s all about the confidence he feels :D

Tw-cartoon gore and blood (coz #Deadpool doesn’t know how to *not* get hurt in battle)
After a pretty brutal battle, #Spider-Man has to carry Deadpool out of it, since she’s currently missing a leg. The two don’t have time to wait for it to grow back, so I guess it looks like some more bonding time!

Deadpool - Huh, and here I thought you said you won’t save me…
Spider-Man - Oh shut up, I’m only carrying you because you’ll slow us down

One is ongoing, sharing my trans thoughts, and the other is a story with a trans Cooper Connors trying to navigate his hero and personal life. Another #trans thoughts mini comic, as explained by my #spider-sona.
A bit of a different topic, but it’s something that I really wanted to be said.

Text - One thing my parents said after I came out as trans, was that I was “putting myself in a box” Which couldn’t be more wrong.
They see labels as a negative thing, a way of trapping yourself in a cramped, steel box that other people created. But in reality…

Text - The box is open. I can step into it at anytime, and sit there for however long I want.
I can move around it, explore every corner,

Text - and if after a while, it doesn’t feel right anymore, there’s nothing stopping me from stepping out…
And going into another box.

Text - Even then, there’s some people who don’t like being in boxes, and that’s fine too. Because they decided that, no one else.
I personally find the boxes comforting, because then I have the language I need to understand how I feel, and I can find others in it with me.
