Will I leave the house today? Who knows. I’ve just gotten myself out of bed.

This is some northern hemisphere weather right now and I would not enjoy a cold cloudy Christmas like this.
December 26, 2025 at 12:44 AM
What do you mean there’s track work on Boxing Day??
December 25, 2025 at 6:02 AM
Done with all the shopping 2ish pm on Christmas Eve. Not the worst but also not my best.

So I put all my gifts and purchases (since 2018) on a poorly formatted spreadsheet (I can only do sums) so I can track what I bought in previous years and how much, etc. I just like to see it all laid out like that. Also a reminder to not double up on presents from previous years.

I love Christmas but also I can’t wait ‘til it’s over so I can do nothing. Nothing at all.

I don't need to go to Chemist Warehouse. I don't need to go there to that hell.

As the eldest daughter this Christmas season more than most has just been me trying to make Christmas happen. This is a lot fking work and mental and emotional labour and I do not want this to happen again next year. End of year also has me stressed unnecessarily.

I've made another list and I don't think rest of my fam and relos is agonising this much over their Christmas lists.
December 21, 2025 at 12:13 AM
oh hey self, that is the last thing you'll be purchasing for yourself for what remains of this year. kthnx.

BOM is saying it’s 41 degrees in the city. I’m staying inside at work as long as possible.
December 19, 2025 at 2:02 AM
Why am I already getting Boxing Day emails??
December 18, 2025 at 9:54 PM
Seems there’s a security guard at the main entrances to Sydney Westfield, which I don’t think are there usually. Out of an abundance of caution, I imagine.

I don’t know if it’s just the end of the year or because of yesterday but my bus to the station, and train into the city was so quiet. More quiet than usual.

Australia has had strict laws on gun control since the late 90s. But the system is a lot looser than people think, with some big loopholes allowing long guns to be bought legally www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
Australia had the ‘gold standard’ on gun control. The Bondi beach terror attack will force it to confront its surging number of weapons
There are now more guns in the community per capita than in the aftermath of the Port Arthur massacre, with at least 2,000 new firearms lawfully entering the community every week

Sometimes you really just have to scroll through the rage baiting, dead sht posts online. Why am I spending a single brain cell on it?

How did he have so many??
The 50-year-old Bondi beach terror suspect who died was a licensed firearms holder, and had six firearms, NSW police say. Police have the six firearms from the scene yesterday. His 24yo son is in police custody in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

When I saw the news on reddit I thought it was a joke or satire or parody because it did not feel like a real thing that could happen here. I don't have the tv on the news so all I have is what is online and I still quite can't believe it. What a fking awful way to end the year.

I have to go shopping but I do not want to brave Parra Westfield on a Sunday.

A high school kid in the food court asked me to look after his food because he forgot his drink and had to go back and I guess yay for looking trustworthy?

My usual morning coffee places just raised their price by 50 cents. I went there a couple of days ago and thought the new person had made a mistake and now there’s a little sign explaining why. I’m loyal so I’ll probably stick with it and also everywhere is all about the same price now.
