Leave it to some economists that don't want to consider other fields to come up with a term that assumes economics is a function of space which ignores the role of the (nation) state.

If this is the case, I wouldn't be surprised if capturing Maduro and then telling Trump he controlled Venezuela was the option they got him to settle for over a full-scale invasion.
