2x Brett Ewins and Peter Milligan collects two stories by one of the great UK comics duos for the first time. Rooney's Lay shows the space age and sleaze colliding in newly wild ways, while in the disquieting In The Penal Colony, they unforgettably adapt Kafka's story.

Regular reminder of the Best Cartoon Ever, by Kevin Woodcock
The Best Cartoon Ever, by Kevin Woodcock: in the first panel, a child in art class has drawn a horrific child-style picture of her mother, captioned "MUMMY": it has stiff bristles on its head, snaggle teeth, one huge eye and one tiny one. In the second panel we see the mothers waiting outside the school: one of them exactly resembles the child's drawing.

Simon Harrison's Shuk & Doode chronicles the wild misadventures of two demons who have escaped from hell, plus urban satanism, cat burglary and many other moments from the night life of a big city. They grin! They leer! They stole my popcorn! Originally published in C&VG.

2 x Chris Reynolds is a collection of Space Food, from 1990, where sci-fi and kitchen sink collide in an uneasy fashion, and 2005's The Animals' War, where time travel proves to be less of a blessing than first thought, and the landscapes are littered with dark warnings.

Our first zine of UK comic ephemera collects together some of the most historic and attractive of the price stickers that UK comic shops have used over the last 50 years. Both a valuable record of how comics have been sold, and a potent nostalgia bomb.

Two stories by one of my favourite cartoonists, the late Chris Reynolds. Chris once told a mutual friend that he thought his own stories were hilarious. Never quite seen that, until this I read this @darkandgolden.bsky.social collection. Space burgers, animal's war. It all makes sense now.

The cartoons of Kevin Woodcock are an unnerving trip to a place that is just not quite right. In these glimpses of unease the funny bone is always exposed and the widest grin belongs to a skull. Discover one of the most distinctive voices in British cartooning.

I picked this up from @goshcomics.bsky.social earlier this week.

Two prime Carol Swain stories, full of gentle humanity, slightly absurd and beautifully rendered comic pages.
