Subscribing to this series was such an enjoyable experience. How many comics do you tear open and read standing in the kitchen? Very few for me, Tony's work is Drop What You're Doing comics.

If you want something unique and unabashedly human, look no further.

It was an absolute joy to write about the Texas Archive of the Moving Image, a nonprofit that works tirelessly to preserve Texas' film history by digitizing tapes and film before they degrade. Their website is a treasure trove of cool state history: www.chron.com/culture/arti...
Meet the people preserving Texas history, one home movie at a time.
Your home footage may be more special than you think, the nonprofit says.

Here's a thread about books I added to to the Domino store last night:

Oboy Comics #8 by Shaheen Beardsley

Extremely skilled cartooning on display here, there's a real affinity for the superhero setting that it pushes and pulls with, this is for fans of COMICS.

Anyway, a small press publisher, @phnxprodscomics.bsky.social has started collecting them all and I’ve just got his adaptation of Hamlet, which is beautifully produced and I can’t wait to dig into it.
Also, the paper inside is absolutely lovely to read on!!

What’s everyone else reading?

Many years later I found out he’s done tons of mini comics and encouraged many others in that movement as well.

His stuff if very absurdist almost akin to Ed Pinsent and Phil Elliott to me.

I don’t know if this is too obscure for you guys.

Many moons ago I picked up a Morty the Dog comic published by Starhead Comix from a cheap comic bin.

Created by Steve Willis.

Absolutely loved its weirdness.

Abandoned zine cover.
Kept the lettering, ditched the character design for something more simple.

This is news I’m very sad to make public: the cartoonist Elijah Brubaker, loved and admired by his readers and peers, has passed at age 50. At link, @comicsjournal.bsky.social has published a collection of tributes and remembrances to this great comics maker.

Why are the American president's claims about autism the first item on British news bulletins?

He's not our president, the advice doesn't apply here and he's not presented any evidence to support his assertions.

So why spread these claims? What make this the biggest story in the UK?

what I don’t understand is why they don’t simply adapt a book that actually has the ingredients to make a better adaptation. I’ve never seen Foundation because all the promo stuff tells me they’re taking so many liberties that it’s essentially a different story - give me an original property, then!

I’ll make this easy for you; here’s pages 1-3 if you want to read #terranomegapage4 head over to www.patreon.com/pjholden it’s FREE!!!
Page 1
Terran omega

Four panels, all black. Deep space. Our camera doesn't vary, we are looking at a tumbling space ship, a salvage ship.

Panel 1. Behind the ship, In the background is a small thing that looks like a google map pin.
Caption: ++REPEAT ++ SALVAGE SHIP RESPOND ++
Panel 2 the ship continues to tumble. The pin is much larger now, about the same mass (if not shape) of the tumbling ship
Caption ++SALVAGE SHIP THIS IS BLACK OMEGA ++ PLEASE RESPOND ++
Panel 2
The ship continues to tumble the Black Omega, is now very largely, cropped by the panel, still behind the tumbling ship and obviously larger than it.
Caption: Nothing
Caption: No response. Ship appears to be dead.
Panel 4
The tumbling ship remains, surrounded it now is the centre of the Black Omega, the ship so large it now dwarfs the little scrapyard junker.
Caption: But... I am detecting three lifeforms.
Caption: I can send a drone...? Page 2

Double page spread. Left hand side a large full page panel. Terran omega floating in space. An armoured heroic looking character carrying a staff of pure light and wearing a helmet that’s a cross between dr fate and galactus. Floating behind here (and where’s she’s flying towards) is a large chunky salvage ship (which is big and blocky and has two very obvious hands for gripping salvage)
Terran Omega : "No, I think I'd like to do this myself"

Second page has a column of panels.
First: Terran omega flying towards a door (she flies gently while standing)

Second; her hand reaches towards the door and is cracking with energy

Third: her helmet and staff now inside the airlock of the ship
Terran: I'm inside
Terran: ...
Radio: *static*
Terran: Hmmm... on my own.
Terran: Ok

Fourth: she’s walking carefully down a corridor filled with smoke
Terran: Now. Let's look around.
