Bit weird calling 'Explosive Sweet Freezer Razors" my most recent book when it feels like I should have put out another by now. Turns out they take ages to make, though, especially when you spend most of the time making weird folding comics which would never, ever work as part of a book.

Four pages (in sequence) from 'Tuesday's Salted Curse', the 9th story in my most recent book, Explosive Sweet Freezer Razors.

Currently considering whether documenting the work on what will (hopefully) be my next book-sized project would be a good idea.

Two major risks: I get bored and stop doing it; nobody cares so what's the point.

So, the same risks that I've been carrying since I started making comics.

This weekend I watched Wocked For Good and Sisu: Road To Revenge. They're very different: nobody sings about their emotions in Sisu and nobody gets their head torn off in Wicked.

If you're an author being published by small and tiny presses, please shamelessly promote your work, however much your temperament might militate against it. I've seen many wonderful authors at this level so quickly forgotten when they die, you deserve all the readers you can get while you're alive.

The day after I gave out a bunch of Big Business Cards at Thought Bubble my website's domain subscription didn't renew and so any emails sent to me over the past 2 days went straight into limbo. God Bless Ethan at GoDaddy for helping me sort everything out.

Popped the spares of this zine I had made up on the store. 32 staple bound pages featuring many frames of animation (rotoscope and stop motion).

It's my 50th birthday.

I have a spot on my nose. I think it's there from playing my nose flute for people whilst waiting for my card reader to work at Thought Bubble.

Buy my comics, commission me, join my patreon or simply send me birthday money so I can pay birthday bills.

Right. Thought Bubble was great as ever, it's always a lovely chance to have a holiday from real life and spend time with all the people I only get to spend time with there. @valentinebarker.com and @mrsbarker.bsky.social were incredible company (enjoy Athens!)

Had the best idea for a comic in the car. A really big long meaty comic idea. No idea what it was now, mind you.

Have made it home from Thought Bubble. Yet again the A1 was boring af, which is fine because nobody wants an exciting motorway, not really.
