As predicted, women in New Hampshire had a hard time voting yesterday because of the new proof of citizenship law:

“It doesn’t have my married name on it,” she said. Town voting officials then sent her away a second time, to get her marriage certificate.

NH’s new ID requirements send some would-be voters home to grab passports, birth certificates
The law requires all new voters to show proof of their U.S. citizenship. For some, that meant making multiple trips to and from the polls before finally casting a ballot on Tuesday.

Does “Golden Age” refer to a time when planes keep crashing, eggs cost $10–15 a dozen, the U.S. is being booed and protested by all our allies, workers are losing their jobs, and Americans’ personal data is being rummaged through by unelected oligarchs and their strange crew of 20-something incels?

For all their talk of “freedom” these folks are feudalists. They want the freedom to amass endless wealth, indenture those they see as less than, and keep everyone too dumb and too poor and exhausted and scared to do anything about it

A simple fact a lot of folks have forgotten is that elites have always seen democracy as a problem. As @steventdennis.bsky.social pointed out, if they had the votes to do all this stuff, they would have a long time ago, these aren’t new ideas, they’re just not afraid to force them thru anymore.

I think there are a bunch of people who think telling people how to say things is activism. We have to not be so damned precious about the exact words and just start loudly agreeing with each other. Yes - and. Less theatre criticism, more movement building,

When I visited a friend who worked in the White House years ago, I had to submit a ton of info weeks earlier to get approved just to walk into the building.

And now, apparently, anyone who says "I work for Musk" can just wander around and access anything.
4/ who they are, whether they’re even American citizens. They all seem to be Thiel and Musk protégés. And I’ve had multiple references to their refusing to identify themselves by anything but first name. The rationale given is that they could be doxed.

I think this is our future unless someone stops him. Musk’s plan for X has been for it to replace the entire banking system. His keen interest in seizing control of Treasury payments (and its tech) may forebode an intention to have such payments go through X www.theverge.com/2023/10/26/2...

In the videos we obtained, Vought describes “shadow” planning to

A poorly educated population is easier to control
Illinois has virtually no regulations on homeschooling, allowing parents to pull vulnerable children from public schools and then not provide any education for them. Officials call them "no schoolers."

With Capitol News Illinois (published June 2024)
His Parents Said They Would Homeschool Him. Lax State Oversight Kept His Abuse Hidden.
At 9 years old, L.J. started missing school. His parents said they would homeschool him. It took two years — during which he was beaten and denied food — for anyone to notice he wasn’t learning.
