Oh puh-lease.... I could not be more disappointed in @mark-carney.bsky.social. Canada should have been a signatory. Now we're a footnote. Canada used to stand for something. To be clear, I am a Liberal/NDP voter who joined the liberal party to support Carney. My expectations remain unmet.
The PMO has now released another readout clarifying Canada supports the joint statement signed by other European leaders that was released earlier today:

I’ve been saying for a while now that, as more and more Canadians live paycheque to paycheque, it will start to show. It starts here with charities. It’ll extend to defaulted mortgages after folks fall behind on their consumer debt. It’s a slow burn collapse as all the wealth flows upward.
Are we grinches or can we just no longer afford to subsidize the failure of social programs because too many of us have now been failed by our tattered and often non-existent social safety net?

A hero of the greatest kind. We will never know how many lives were saved by Ahmed al Ahmed.
Ahmed al Ahmed, a Lebanese Muslim who owns a Sydney fruit shop, risked his life to disarm one of the Bondi Beach shooters.
His courage gives me hope amidst the horror and darkness. Muslims and Jews are not enemies. Our futures, in the Middle East and beyond, are intrinsically bound.
