No sign of the Pied Fly during a quick look in ropey conditions this afternoon. Might still be worth a visit as and when the wind and rain ease off. #gwentbirds

THe power of the press in the UK.

Ignoring "all the Green crap" as David Cameron did, costs farmers £800m in one year.

But a slight and easily avoidable increase in Inheritance Tax by Labour is an excuse for a farmers' revolt?

Have had the ringing details on the Pied Flycatcher back from @btobirds.bsky.social.
It was ringed as an adult female on 20th May 2024 at Afon Artro, Gwynedd, 155 km NNW of Glebelands Park.

Did not expect to see a Pied Flycatcher today. Latest Gwent record. Might go back tomorrow to get it on the ‘birds I have seen in the UK in December’ list. Currently attempting to piece together the ring details. Ta to Chris for finding and Matt for passing on the news. #gwentbirding #birdingWales

Well, it’s taken a decade of national decline, but it seems the penny has *finally* dropped amongst the anti-EU Haw-Haws at The Telegraph. Can’t wait for the article in which they apologise for peddling the treacherous shite that was/is Brexit.

The Chancellor explicitly references the negative legacy of Brexit on the UK economy - so why is her govt so opposed to taking steps like joining the customs union or single market with all the economic benefits these would bring? #Budget2025
