I shouldn't really be doing that currently because I have other things to do rather than stumble head-first into a rabbit hole, but I feel like I'll have to eventually do a proper deep dive into the semantics of Nix to finally make sense of what the fuck any of the patterns I keep seeing actually do

I don't really use my VR headset all that often, but literally anytime I do and I need PC VR it's such a pain in the ass.
It's never just drop in -> do my stuff -> drop out, I always end up having some issue with the Oculus suit that needs to be fixer first before I can even get started...

This is partially my fault for having an umlaut in my windows user name despite knowing that that's a bad idea, but it's so funny to me how Quest Link is literally broken every time I haven't used it for a couple weeks

Not sure if this is my desire to procrastinate, but I pre-ordered a TinyMaker and now I'm tempted to undust my trusty old FDM printer and maybe get back into digital electronics while I wait for the cute lil resin printer to arrive

Using a dev flake to build a latex doc for my thesis and it's kinda neat, but the fact that it does not seem to cache the several gigabyte of tex resources whenever i relaunch WSL is kinda annoying. I wonder what's up with that

Atlas OS might be causing my Unity project to take forever to start up sometimes and I do not understand why that is happening.
But I'm almost sure it has to be Atlas that causes it. I'm the only one on the team that seems to struggle with this problem, and it's an issue on both my PC and notebook

DF lured me in with a small army of like 20 worker ants I just wanted to get out of the way to stop them from annoying me and then spawned in a huge amount of trash mobs so everytime I unpause my PC fans throttle to full speed and my FPS goes to shit

Been getting into Dwarf Fortress these past couple days. Currently running a fort that bases it's economy almost entirely around selling used socks at this point in time.
The most expensive object I have is a single silken sandal.

My steam deck is freshly set up with jovian nixos. Seems like everything runs just fine (which I definitely didn't expect to go this smoothly).
Still some stuff I need to set up, but I think after lots of trouble and various devices I finally have my quiet low-power workstation ready.

Recently my instance of Unity likes to take a full 5 minutes or more to spin up play mode for no reason (when it should take <10s)
I have no idea why, it even affects builds that worked fine before. It's driving me nuts.

I've come to terms with using flakes as an entry point for my config (although I'm somewhat tempted to just make a host files repo and submodule my customizations there).
Home manager I'm still on the fence on though. It's pretty convenient but I'm not sure if I like having all of my dotfiles as nix

Cleaned up my nix config and I think I've arrived at something reasonably clean and usable. Moved my home manager configs into the host configs so they're actually defined per system and fixed my host name issues.
