Not really sure what to do about this. I would actually like to be more active in discussions on @talesfromelsewhere.bsky.social's discord for example (it's great for general design talk as well), but topics just change way too frequently to keep up.

Yeah I've always called everything that was somewhat organic that stayed in hot water for a bit "tea" (as is typically done in Germany as well). And then I came to Italy and have to be careful to say "infuso" so I don't get reprimanded that it's "not tea" :D

And here I am slurping my herbal or fruit infusions because any type of tea with caffeine keeps me awake and nervous for days 🚀

Then again rooibos is pretty neat actually 🍵 but that's a bark right, not actually tea?

But to be fair, it means I have even less arguments for upgrading our ancient servers at work and have to maintain 4 different OS versions with just enough difference that the same scripts don't work on them :(

State Vector could be a candidate for it, even though I did not intend to introduce actual alive aliens from the beginning (but maybe mysterious ruins, let's see). But I have a potential future campaign draft about a first contact scenario that is not falling into the invasion or "evil alien" trope.

I honestly think there are exactly the same amount of influential games a year as usual. What's different is the sheer amount of games coming out though. This increased exponentially.

Anyway, if you need a very recent influential game: Balatro. It is already spawning clones.
