On the bookshop wall, you can see several “postcards” with Russian cityscapes overlayed with real court excerpts describing hate-motivated attacks. You can collect a copy of the Places of Interest postcard by donating any amount to Dataout. The exhibition runs until 5 December.

From Saint Petersburg to Yakutsk, hate crimes against LGBTQIA+ people happen across Russia, in cities and small towns. Most of them remain invisible. The art project Places of Interest, now on display at Pushkin House Bookshop in London, draws attention to this hidden violence.

Nearly two years ago, the Russian Supreme Court declared the so-called “International LGBT Movement” an extremist organisation. Over 100 convictions have been already issued for ”LGBT extremism”. On November 5, Pushkin House in London hosts a talk and exhibition on this topic.
