The DRP Steering committee will be taking a winter rest from December 20 - January 11. ❄️⚓💾❄️

You'll still see us around, but with a decreased activity level. We hope that your holiday break is what you need it to be-- and we'll see you in 2026. ❤️

No matter what you call it, documentation is essential for understanding and using data. Whether you're rescuing data or creating your own, be sure you have captured all of the relevant information!

(Yes, these are all different; no, not every dataset needs each of these)

Listen to the Queen Bee this #MemeMonday and save a copy of the important data-- especially if you think it may be at risk for deletion or alteration! Here today, gone tomorrow-- so put a proverbial ring on it. Or just download a copy.

Happy Thanksgiving from the DRP Steering Committee. ❤️

One of the biggest threats to our federal data resources is the loss of key staff to keep servers running, update files, provide access to data, and dozens of other hidden tasks.

So if you're asked how much it costs to provide access to federal data, remember it is definitely more than $10.

Happy #MemeMonday to everyone else who is struggling today. We can do this -- but it will be easier to get through it together!

DataLumos is a crowd-sourced archive for valuable government data resources-- so you can store a copy of governmental data in this repository for free! Then you'll have a DOI to cite the data and you know it will be preserved.

Have you received a #DataRescueProject sticker? Maybe at a conference, maybe via mail, or somewhere else? We want to see where it ended up! Reply or quote this with a picture of your sticker.

This isn't a contest or anything, but it will bring a lil morale boost to your fave #DataRescue crew!

Wondering what "negative" stories the Secretary of Interior order 3431 erases from public view? A #SaveOurSigns volunteer captured these before and after images from #NPS site Muir Woods in California.

Aren't we all just concert girls, trying to get our points across?

We're not at @osfestivalde.bsky.social but heard from @altmetric.com there's a meme competition underway. We have FOMO, so here's our entry:
