Her prose is so artificial and tryhard that now I'm wondering if any of these biting anecdotes could just be her attempt to concoct a fictional "keepin' it real" persona

Stumbled upon one of these threads where the OP (known one) tried to use ML cancer detection as a pro-AI gotcha and when people argued they're not opposed to legit medical breakthroughs said OP just went "nuh huh yes you are"

It has to be about tech employment culture, right? We go to college to be taught design principles only to learn most companies don't value that consistency while a handful of celebrity UI or hardware designers get paid billions to say "your AI device should be cream white" — to exaggerate

It does offer the weird implication that apparently to some people the point of illustrations and tables is that you don't actually read them?? Begs the question of what else they ignore about their communicative role

I can absolutely believe they get a thrill every time they realise there's a spin for them to write up. "Trump challenges common understanding of CIA assets vetting"

"I'll fill my book with the slogans I left in the drafts folder, that'll fix it"

Did that post imply college students? And as a grad myself Im not particularly sympathetic, this is more about a self-taught illusion of efficiency than not, like a smoker that arbitrarily starts the habit and then convinces himself one can't live without. Ofc it's relevant that everyone's buying it

That post completely misunderstands the incentive behind AI. It presumes students abusing it are preoccupied with accuracy when it's just as likely they're interested in getting a given job done quick no matter the specifics

It's because she assumes (maybe correctly) that her audience already starts from the conceit that "Israel's violence is greatly exaggerated by social media frenzy while the real numbers tell a different story" and as such her only arguments are about how to "get through" that their view is objective

While simultaneously demanding to be accepted as the real peace-loving-through-necessary-militarism progressives, ofc

What got me was passively accepting the rainbow-bomber as a reasonable given and the disagreement as subversive irrationality / secret racism. Multiple people including I think the OP specifically called it a way to mask love for terrorism and Russian imperialism. No actual space for debate offered

I did want to give the second movie a shot cuz I was liking the vibes of the third's trailer, and all I got is two hours of the dumbest people on Pandora stepping on rakes until they stumble into an hour long climax that literally recycles its own action scenes
