My most good-faith take is that a rainbow bomber is still a contradiction ripe for exploitation, cuz if the idea is "democracy still needs a bomber" nothing about that spells the need to mask its deadly aims with feel-good bells & whistles, unless you actively expect/advocate for such obfuscation

I would find the AI's ability to integrate/simulate conversations about its safety features (that's clearly what "imagining an automatic message about a human operator taking over" is) more fascinating if I wasn't busy seething over the stupidity this showcases of its boosters

The Chainsaw Man movie is a funny example of how mechanical modern anime adaptations are. They did pick a relatively self-contained arc that can (and I guess does) work as a film, and yet it still opens with a reminder about Denji's recurring nightmare that won't pay off until the next season

Thought Yakuza 0 mostly treaded a fine line with giving Makoto some dignity despite her very gendered victim role, but boy is it trite to cap all that with random marriage. Plenty of ways to showcase Majima's emotional sacrifice without condemning her to such passivity (the freaking therapist??)
