It's not even a big deal since Enemy Step resets gravity anyway but non-deterministic outcomes to exact actions in repetition feels like it goes against the spirit of the series to me.

I suppose since the floodgates were opened with DMC4 Lucifer it was kinda inevitable but oh well...

Mechanically, I like it more than Vanquish. Can't compete with the moment to moment pacing of Vanquish's good encounters but like... Good melee system, stamina implementation and hitzone reactions. Parries are almost good. Samurai Chris. Mercs... but holy shit fuck those campaigns.

The worst thing about RE6 is that it has some of the SICKEST SHIT EVER in third person combat but it's probably never gonna get iterated again because it's tainted by being Resident Evil 6.

The gameplay and interactivity are a means to an end rather than the goal.

Pragmata already does the 'enemies are passive when you aren't looking' thing Capcom games love doing so they are probably fine with doing nothing being a winning strategy by default. If it's just an upgrade, then slowmo dodge is fine being just another possible way to play the game.

I can't think of a single Capcom game where backing away wasn't insanely overpowered where they also didn't give you another overpowered tool to make up for it. Even Final Fight does it like that. Maybe RE4R because 1f full damage on grabs, which just should have not being a thing to begin with.

They are probably horrified of the game becoming unplayable because your character's damage is incredibly lopsided and you can't even stun enemies without the hacking, so I think this might be a baby game ala RE4 2005 but the enemies just explode you if you fuck up on higher difficulties.

Now add in variable size and RNG buff/debuff placement on the hacking grid on top of that and a dodge that has next to no iframes, if any, that you also need to use to reposition for the DPS and the slowmo for a single hack makes sense to me.
