This was actually an area where “Return of the Jedi” made a brilliant move: it gave us both. Darth Vader was “the complex villain,” whereas Emperor Palpatine was the “pure evil incarnate villain.”

Well, I have two things to say about that.

1 ) No harm in trying again on a later day. I've copied the text of what I wrote into a word doc so that I can just paste it when I try again.

2 ) This error message could very well be the result of being overloaded with negative feedback. Which is good.

Another great point to (politely) bring up. :)

I'm increasingly convinced that they got...more than a few messages on this subject.

As am I. I intend to copy the text of my feedback onto my computer and try sending it again later.

Although, I do wonder...is the error message the result of them getting a lot negative feedback all at once? Because if so...that's encouraging.

No kidding.

You're a *saint,* thank you--I could not find where to leave feedback for the *life* of me!
November 30, 2025 at 6:21 PM
No worries if you can't, but if you wouldn't mind sharing *where* you wrote it, I'd be very appreciative. Their "help" page was not, well.......helpful.

Bender, to his credit, is very aware of who he is, and that was a good example. Another one of my favorite examples is in the ninth episode of the most recent season, "The Trouble With Truffles."

JAMBONE: Thank you Bender, you're the kindest person I've ever met.

BENDER: Really? That's horrible!

I’m so sorry to hear that Ranger is going through that— and likewise relieved that the worst of it is over!

To some in the upper echelons of corporate management, the idea of never having to pay humans again is worth the financial risk. That's why you have some stubborn holdouts.

Just keep letting these companies know--firmly, but politely--that you don't want AI.

The U.S. economy has come to increasingly depend on the AI boom, despite risks.

continue to use AI without any significant payoff, the more the investment funds are going to dry up, and thus, the AI companies are going to have to start charging their clients higher rates that more accurately reflect what AI *really* costs...for something that still isn't paying off.

an AI bubble burst: the "eventual payoff" just isn't happening.

Some companies are nevertheless hanging on to AI under the logic of, "Erm...w-well, OK, so it's taking a tad longer than we thought, but eventually it's gonna pay off."

The longer companies

A lot of the rates that genAI companies are charging are being artificially lowered by big venture capital investment money, on the promise that, "It'll pay off eventually."

For many companies, that just isn't happening. That's part of the reason you're hearing so much talk about <cont'd>

(Besides which, I think it's worth remembering, it's not like the actors were the ones deciding to "Americanize" the dubs that 4Kids made, the ones making that call were the people higher up on 4Kids's corporate food chain.)
November 29, 2025 at 9:35 PM
I had issues with some of the localization choices 4Kids made, but not their actors. The characters in their dubs always had personality, even if it wasn't necessarily a loyal representation of the personalities of the original Japanese version. These AI "dubs" have nothing *resembling* personality.
November 29, 2025 at 9:29 PM
And putting aside that it's putting humans out of work........we gotta be real: the dub sucks.

It'd be a slightly (and only slightly) more complicated situation if the results that it was producing were actually good. *Nobody's* listening to that AI dub and going, "*That's* AI? It sounds so real!"
November 29, 2025 at 7:12 PM
PS: I feel I should add (and I know you weren't saying this, I'm just adding this for onlookers), I *DO NOT* mean threats of violence or personal insults, absolutely nothing like that. Those are always uncool, no matter the context.

...But they should hear how much people hate the AI dub itself.
November 29, 2025 at 3:21 PM
I'd very much like to know this myself, because I think the fans need to know who to reach out and complain to. *Just* supporting human dubs, while greatly appreciated, isn't enough. Whoever made the call to green-light an AI dub needs to hear what the fans think about it.
