We’re not talking about throwing the game, still a decent side with a strong bench if we’re still in it. The bigger issue is the fact we’re having to play two days after this whilst our opponents are sat with their feet up.

Listen, I think we’ll give them a game. It’s just whether we have enough left in the tank for the next couple. Tight turnaround, Man U with two days extra break, that sort of thing. Maybe over cautious on my part.

That mentality works fine when you’re the best team in the Champo but this year we need to target those games that are winnable and protect the squad. I would love to be wrong but my view is this isn’t a winnable game.

I’d be surprised if Tanaka starts anyway but definitely agree re Bogle. Isn’t Ampadu one yellow away too? I’d start Nmecha and Okafor. I know we’re playing well but I really think tomorrow is a bridge too far and we’re better off looking at what’s to come.
