Older but not necessarily wiser. Phil Thompson nearly ran me over and Sammy Lee told me I look like Eric Clapton. Not sure which was worse. Once complimented on my beard by Jeremy Corbyn. Would put cauliflower and Mick Hucknall into Room 101.

Going to have a crack at doing the 'a new album every day' thing, BUT, for practical reasons, not necessarily 1 each day - but by the end of the year there WILL be 365 on the list.

Watch this space....

It's great. Doesn't feel like almost an hour, it absolutely flew by, always a good sign.

Good shout. Can't have it as part of the 365 because I do know that one, but it's due a revisit

Pedro Delgado, apparently.

Emma Pollock just released a solo album a couple of weeks ago, which might be making it onto this list soon as well...

Is 'progressivism' the new 'woke' then?
Right wing pejorative shorthand for, well, 'being a reasonable human being', really?

260/365 The Blow Monkeys 'Animal Magic'

Some of this is so 1986 that I half expected the kids from across the road to knock and ask if I was coming out to play.
Liked it a lot, especially the first few. Good big tunes and a couple of nice quirky bits (I love a good time change) thrown in as well.

Ok. Just done the bonus tracks as well, and not anywhere near as keen on them as on the album itself.
Probably why they're not on it, eh?

259/365 Vampire Weekend 'Father Of The Bride'

A few that I think I recognised on here, but not sure if that's because I've heard the song before or because it wears its influences proudly on its sleeves.
Played it, and then played it again. Not gone for the bonus tracks yet - but thinking about it.

So it looks like our American friends are still getting confused by the Jim Gavin posts.
Meanwhile I keep misreading them and wondering why everyone's talking about one of the Freebirds.

258/365 Brian Eno ‘Another Green World’

Arty, ambient, experimental. Much of it felt like a film score rather than an actual album. It's easy to see why the producers of Arena snapped up the title track to be its theme tune.
Don't know how often I'll listen again, but a good way to spend 40mins.

Should be totally, utterly speechless at this. But actually not surprised at all.

Keir Starmer’s spokesman asked about Israel detaining British citizens who were on the Gaza aid flotilla, while in international waters, replies that it is a “matter for the Israeli Government”

This is brilliant

A thread of inspirational quotes from two of my idols: Kemi Badenoch and Ange Postecoglou

(uh-oh, I may have gotten some mixed up... or have I??)

Me and Mrs N saw Girls Aloud a couple of times, and Bruno Mars. All great shows. But less conspicuous with her than it would've been with just me and our kid!

It's a belter. Me and my bro actually bought tickets to see them on their first tour until we decided that two straight blokes, either in or rapidly approaching our 20s, absolutely weren't the demographic and it'd probably be a bit weird, so we shifted them on.

We can't tax billionaires, because they might take their tax avoidance to another country. But we can drive out brilliant people who do much-needed work, contribute to our society and culture, pay tax, create jobs, and have done nothing wrong. That's fine, apparently.

Love the fact that 'Spice' just sits there in the middle of it all as if they're looking bemused at what's going on around them

I'm calling it now, Bournemouth v Hearts for next season's champions league final.

Sounds like a doctors waiting room in our house. How's everyone else's Monday morning going?

That's definitely one of them

Don't even know where to start with this. Every time I think of one, another five pop into my head saying "what about me?"

I'm not sure which is worse, the fact that it's impossible to find anything, or the fact that they've taken loads of the tills out so that once you do finally manage to find the sausage rolls there's a massive gridlock to get out of the bloody place.

Yes, Liverpool's form is poor, and the government is dire, but I really don't think enough is being said about what an abomination the Tesco by us has become since they spent months ripping the guts out of it in the name of 'improvements'.

There's no problem so great that we can't ignore it if we really put our minds to it.

They tortured and imprisoned Nelson Mandela too.

But they never beat him.
