There is currently a yellow high streamflow advisory out for a large portion of SW BC. Here is how BC uses colour-tiered alerts.

And Canada’s Leader of the Official Opposition? He chooses to congratulate the orange petro-gangster. Way to go, PP. You just sold out your own country, and the province you are supposed to represent.

Wow - Narduar is so fringe that I never thought I'd see him be awarded The Order of Canada. Congrats to #Narduar, the new Canadian icon! :-)

Rapidly deepening low pressure system dragging mild Gulf of Mexico air over parts of southern Ontario. At midnight, London is 11C and Sarnia is 14C, thankfully melting accreted ice on trees, etc. Will be a much different story tomorrow with near-blizzard conditions. #ONstorm

Another thunderstorm, coming ashore off Lake Huron. Lightning likely wind turbine initiated. But the storm is elevated and unlikely to generate any severe weather aside from heavy rain. #ONstorm

Thunder reported with this compact storm moving into southwestern Ontario. Just one more weather type affecting the province right now. Northbound Hwy 400 north of Toronto currently closed due to multiple collisions with icy roads. #ONstorm

What a journey Robertson takes you on. He's like the Forrest Gump of the 60s & 70s - always seeming to be involved in the big cultural moments. And all this before he began his storied solo career (his S/T first album is stellar). A quietly determined Canadian that had a massive impact. RIP Robbie

🧵This time around, after each chapter I listened to the musical output he described. From the formative years with Ronnie Hawkins, to The Basement Tapes with Dylan, to the string of albums from Big Pink to Northern Lights Southern Cross (their Abbey Road in my view), to the Scorcese's Last Waltz.

🧵Just finished reading Robbie Robertson's autobiography 'Testimony' - again. IMHO, the best music autobiography there is, and I've read many. An incredible story of four southern Ontario boys, and a wayward Arkansan, shaking the foundations of popular music, then going out with a glorious bang.

Sudden snow squall coming through the #LdnOnt area. Lots of blowing snow, and greatly reduced visibility. Take care out there! #ONstorm
December 19, 2025 at 7:22 PM
And of course the related radar loop from CASET. Locked on London :-)
December 14, 2025 at 4:50 PM
Wow, video compression really made that snow look unimpressive. Here's a look out the back door. Really piling up here in Londontario :-)
December 14, 2025 at 4:44 PM
So the snow squall that was supposed to set up west of #LdnOnt seems to have locked in over the city, at least for now. Some impressive snowfall rates here, on top of all the snow we already have. It's been a very snowy December here! #ONstorm

Back to a Winter Wonderland in Londontario :-)

Caught my eye while doing some Google Earth surfing this morning. Guesses on where and what this is? Clue: it's in Canada.

I saw the Globe and Mail's Robert Fife on Power & Politics yesterday repeating the old 'red herring' that when it comes to climate change Canada is less than 2% of the problem (ie so NOT our problem). Here's a graph that tells the story about the real carbon footprint of each Canadian. It's massive.

Alert colours are determined using this Confidence vs Impact matrix. Only weather having the highest confidence that it will occur and the highest anticipated impact will get a Red warning. Yet I'm told that all tornado warnings will be Red i.e. very high confidence of extreme impact. Needs work...

Got this pic through the plane window on a recent flight that happened to go over #Greenland briefly. Wow...

And now a panel discussion, with THE classic Chuck Doswell photo looming large over the stage. Current question - what did Chuck mean to you?

For me, Chuck was an inspiration and mentor - and a larger than life presence in the community. I certainly miss him.

The Chuck Doswell Memorial Session at the European Conference on Severe Storms, and @hebrooks87.bsky.social is putting on what he calls ‘Storytime with Uncle Harold’. On work he and Chuck had done on training for flash flooding. Spellbound audience. #ECSS

Quite a bit of snow overnight in Londontario! Will measure later but looks like 20 cm, on top of around 5 cm already on the ground - at least here in Old North. Roads are in pretty bad shape currently. #ONstorm #LdnOnt
November 11, 2025 at 1:41 PM
An intense, nearly stationary lake-effect snow band sets up off southern Lake Huron overnight and some models (like the Canadian HRDPS) give London perhaps 30+ cm by late Tuesday morning. Given so many leaves still on trees this could be a major problem. Keeping an eye on this! #ONstorm #LdnOnt

Ontario’s own @thebeaches.bsky.social put on one hell of a rock show tonight in #Londontario. Bangers from start to finish. And two marriage proposals during the encore - is this a new thing?? Second show tomorrow - don’t miss it. #BlueskyMusic

It’s begun. Just saw the first snowflakes of the season in Londontario. Could see up to 10 cm by Tuesday, and likely more in typical snowbelt areas. #WinterIsComing
