Believe they’re working for O2?

He assured me he want a scammer. When I said I wasn’t happy giving him the code he said that’s fine, you can go into an O2 store and they’ll sort out new SIm for me. I know 100% it was a scam but is it that they are being clever and trying to appear genuine or that the people you speak to genuinely

Thanks Nick, I hadn’t given it much thought, I’d had a few but just ignored them but a bloke at work asked me about them last week so I googled it.

And apologies for besmirching the BBC’s name publicly, I do appreciate they are your employer and an outstanding example of what a public broadcaster should be but I don’t think I can DM you on this platform. Happy to remove the previous reply if you’d prefer.

Surely the Beeb wouldn’t want anyone using their name falsely, though in this case they’d not be wrong if they’d featured on a rogue traders article on Look North - they’re not saying whether positive or negative capacity. Also the 0800 number is interesting.

Thanks Nick, and thanks for the very swift response. I’m not looking to use their services but I do run courses on scams (how to avoid, not how to run them!) and to teach people how to use their digital devices and it’s something that comes up. Disappointed with the Look North team for not replying.
