Wishing you all the best Sean, and 🙏🏽ing the surgery takes the pain away.
Try and keep the social media going if you can manage it; I love your F1 stats.
Did you know that now Max has become a Dad, he is only one of two drivers on the current grid who is are now Dads?

I prefer the youngest "Sprint" qualifier. He won't be on pole for the race, which raises further questions about this format, and speaks volumes to me about drivers' Sprint motivation, especially with little so reward available, yet everything to lose on car floor damage.

I just can't bring myself to mix proper qualifying with Sprint qualifying, especially after listening to some of the drivers' interviews.
I feel Sprints should have their own, independent stats.

What's everyone's own thoughts on the Sprint?
I'd personally like to see the back of them. It's blindingly obvious that some drivers are cruising round and aren't even trying, absolutely petrified of damaging their floor for qualifying and the race. Some drivers have even admitted it in interviews.

Oh great, another Sprint 🙄

This really is a silly and irrelevant table that means zilch.

Oh well done. I was obvs aware of Schuey, but totally missed de la Rosa. Thank you Sean, good shout.

This is becoming like Eurovision on a weekly basis now.

I'd say the stewards made the correct decision there.
@rmgriffiths.bsky.social made a good point, if the corner was Monaco, Max would have had to yield.
Oscar was marginally ahead and was in full control of his car at the apex to the corner. The Red Bull left the track and gained an advantage.

Oh I see, no just random letter...it was the KR06 that attracted me to buying the car. Love it.

...and the wind-screen. People often mention it when I'm out and about. 🏁😆

Mine too, check out the number plate 😉

Wow you got a picture of Keke's Williams, who went on to become the World Champion that very year. What a privilege Chris! AND Pironi's Ferrari, also Constructor's Champions that season. What a season that was.

Those were the days. You could also wander into the pit lane without a pass with a £35 general admission ticket.

That doesn't surprise me, that Silverstone layout was superb and I was very privileged to have been there and experienced it. I believe it was also Riccardo Patrese's 200th GP, a record at the time. I saw his pit lane interview and cake 🎂
Great stat thank you Sean.

Correction: Club. I was 16 and still learning 😂

I remember going to Silverstone in 1990, the year before they put in the slow Vale complex, when the track was fast. I was at Abbey, and Alesi came around Stowe towards me almost on two wheels in his Tyrrell Ford 019. Frightened the living daylights out of me! The speed was unbelievable.

Yes I've just been listening to it actually after reading this thread. Listen to Jean Alesi's interview on the Beyond the Grid podcast. I hadn't realised Nelson was such a good friend of Jean and helped him with his career.
April 17, 2025 at 10:13 PM
Me too. On his day he was as quick as anybody as Monza and Mexico 91 showed.
April 17, 2025 at 10:03 PM
Wasn't it Nelson Piquet who pulled a few strings and got Alesi his Ferrari contract 🤔
