So just found out that Audible have silently removed six audiobooks from my library. Because I noticed, and complained, they gave six credits to buy them back again. They did this because the publishers updated the books and Audible just deleted the old versions.

Great film.
Tonight we’re watching one of the greatest sci fi movies ever made: Dark City, a brilliant film that had the unfortunate luck to be released right in The Matrix’ shadow.

The @thr.com is correct on this. There are no screenwriters involved in the USC film school. Writers are not a part of the filmmaking process and never have been.

Sometimes I get asked if there is an equivalent to Roger Ebert today. I tell them yes, there is, but he's in television criticism, and his name is Alan Sepinwall.
Some news: yesterday was my last at Rolling Stone. For now, I'm going solo, doing all my TV reviewing, recapping, etc., at my newsletter. I hope you'll consider subscribing. Many more details here:

Incredible.
This is awesome: a "WKRP in Cincinnati" fan created a three-hour Johnny Fever radio block, by using clips from the TV show and dropping in the full songs on his intros and outros, plus commercials and Les Nessman news breaks.

I never had any idea what was going on at any given moment but I loved this show.
We had a spy show where the characters had names like Truxton Spangler and Kale Ingram, and we didn’t properly appreciate it at the time.

The cashless ballpark is a bullshit innovation that essentially eliminates tips. For a workforce that depends on tips.

When I worked at Fenway our base pay was 14 per hour. That was 30 years ago. Today’s base pay? 20 per.

Good for them. Go for it.
