On my lunch hour I had another little go at Cotton Wool, density + displacement maps, and a bit of maths etc. Bit too silky, not quite enough disruption as yet.

Finally getting down to actually understanding the maths behind height maps. Avoided it for years but the time has come. Also, trying to rid myself of all adobe poison so learning Da Vinci Resolve workarounds.
Here's a bad thing I made as a test because the colour spaces are different. ENJOY.

Finally getting down to actually understanding the maths behind height maps. Avoided it for years but the time has come. Also, trying to rid myself of all adobe poison so learning Da Vinci Resolve workarounds.

The balance of the whole thing is finding its feet. The aim is always high aptitude in each discipline. But the biggest thing is just being trusted by someone I admire so much to make something of worth.
Its a very nice thing.
