The model always existed, there's just a distinct lack of will
If the units currently under construction won't be done till 2027, when could we expect the potential next 3k to come along?
Stuff like this can't be fixed overnight, but the pace of this isn't fast enough to make a dent

They're building a very small (400) amount of houses currently in Clongriffin
Those won't be completed till roughly 2027
They also, as you said, won't all be social housing, a large chunk will be cost rental
However, here cost rental is being pegged to the market rather than the cost of building

The more countries wean themselves off oil imports, the harder it becomes for the United States to push them around and impose its will on them. In that sense, renewables are also about national security and a country gaining more of a say over its own affairs.
