How could you forgot that face? 😱
Lions, Ireland, and Leinster openside flanker, Josh van der Flier, leans on a fence and looks towards the camera with a small smile framed by a blurry acacia tree in the background.

Ever and anon, every accusation is a confession
Leddin said one of his issues with the Greens endorsing Connolly was that it was indicative of a move towards social issues over apolitical green policy

It turns out what he actually meant is he's more of a centrist than he was a Green

Let's explore the Green credentials of Heather Humphreys - The woman former GP member Brian Leddin thinks should be president.
She advocated for an increased burn period during her time as Minister for Heritage, as well as prolonging the period during which hedgerows could be cut. #Spéirgorm 1/n

The Ditch reported yesterday that Humphreys avoided paying business rates on her old constituency office after failing to declare she’s no longer entitled to an exemption.

Heather Humphreys won’t say if she paid an anti-vacancy tax on her unused residential property.

Humphreys has left the property unoccupied for the last 14 years, during which time the vacant homes tax was introduced.

Will still be still be analysing rugby and drawing arrows - just wanted a logo that reflects that better😁

Post you from a different era

During my brief amateur filmmaking career in college
A black and white image of a man in a black T-shirt with illegible white writing, and jeans.
He's wearing headphones, and standing behind a large old-fashioned video camera

For some reason the wrap pod wasn't enough for myself & @davidcordial.bsky.social to harp on Leinster's #URC opener, we also had a bonus chat about lack of leadership on the pitch > youtu.be/L2YArqzNmp0

I was joined by @davidcordial.bsky.social to painfully go back over Leinster’s season opener in Cape Town, covering topics like…

🏉 Lack of attack
🏉 Sam’s kicking
🏉 In our defence…
🏉 Set-piece woes
🏉 And now, the Bulls

Aside from all else, this makes zero sense when you're talking about losing a popularity contest! Her not being liked enough IS the point.

A diehard communist would also never get the nom, so would Pat say this the far left being "excluded from public life" or does it simply reflect the electorate?

This piece opens with "It’s hard to escape the conclusion that Maria Steen should really be on the ballot paper for the presidential election"

It goes on to say "There is a danger that we are moving towards a situation where anyone who holds socially conservative views is excluded from public life"
If conservatives like Maria Steen want to make an impact, they need to do three things better

Fair play England. Few countries embrace women's sport like England does. 82,000 people at the final is incredible. They've been the best team in the world and deserve this, but they're there because they've backed their athletes, given them support and funding.

Up to everyone else to do the same.

president of colombia, gustavo petro's response to trump
Trump, I don't really like traveling to the US, it's a bit boring, but I confess that there are some meritorious things, I like going to the black neighborhoods of Washington, there I saw an entire fight in the US capital between blacks and Latinos with barricades, which seemed like nonsense to me, because they should unite.
I confess that l like Walt Whitman and Paul Simon and Noam Chomsky and Miller
I confess that Sacco and Vanzetti, who have my blood, in the history of the US, are memorable and I follow them. They were murdered by labor leaders with the electric chair, the fascists who are within the US as well as within my country
I don't like your oil, Trump, you are going to end the human species because of greed.
Maybe one day, over a drink of whiskey that l accept, despite my gastritis, we can talk frankly about this, but it's difficult because you consider me an inferior race and I am not, nor is any Colombian.
So if you know someone who is stubborn, that's me, period. You can try to carry out a coup with your economic strength and your arrogance, like they did with Allende. But I die in my law, I resisted torture and I resist you. I don't want slavers next to Colombia, we already had many and we freed ourselves. What I want next to Colombia are lovers of freedom. If you can't accompany me, l'll go elsewhere. Colombia is the heart of the world and you didn't understand it, this is the land of the yellow butterflies, of the beauty of Remedios, but also of the colonels Aureliano Buendía, of whom I am one, perhaps the last
You will kill me, but I will survive in my town, which is before yours, in the Americas. We are peoples of the winds, the mountains, the Caribbean Sea and of freedom
You don't like our freedom, okay. I don't shake hands with white slavers. I shake the hands of the white libertarian heirs of Lincoln and of the black and white peasant boys of the USA, before whose graves I cried and prayed on a battlefield, which ! reached, after They are the USA and before them I kneel, before no one else.
Overthrow me, President, and the Americas and humanity will respond.
Colombia now stops looking north, looks at the world, our blood comes from the blood of the Caliphate of Córdoba, the civilization at that time, of the Roman Latins of the Mediterranean, the civilization of that time, who founded the republic, democracy in Athens; our blood has the black resisters turned into slaves by you. In Colombia is the first free territory of America, before Washington, of all America, there I take shelter in its African songs.
My land is made of goldsmiths from the time of the Egyptian pharaohs, and of the first artists of the world in Chiribiquete.
You will never dominate us. The warrior who rode our lands, shouting freedom, and who is called Bolivar, opposes us.
Our people are somewhat fearful, somewhat timid, they are naive and kind, loving, but they will know how to win the Panama Canal, which you took from us with violence. Two hundred heroes from all of Latin America lie in Bocas del Toro, now Panama, formerly Colombia, which you murdered.
I raise a flag and as Gaitan said, even if it remains alone, it will continue to be raised with the Latin American dignity that is the dignity of America, which your great-grandfather did not know, and mine did, Mr. President, an immigrant in the USA.
Your blockade does not scare me; because Colombia, in addition to being the country of beauty, is the heart of the world. I know that you love beauty as I do, do not disrespect it and you will offer it your sweetness.
FROM TODAY ON, COLOMBIA OPENS TO THE ENTIRE WORLD, WITH OPEN ARMS, WE ARE BUILDERS OF FREEDOM, LIFE AND HUMANITY.
I am informed that you put a 50% tariff on the fruits of our human labor to enter the
US, I do the same.
Let our people plant corn that was discovered in Colombia and feed the world

this is why we need to bring back shame

there need to be consequences for being a huge asshole, there need to be standards for how you behave in a decent society

the rules cannot be set by the worst of us
inyourculture.bsky.social
the cultural crisis is straightforward: there are no longer any formal consequences for blatantly anti-social behavior, and the rest of us are constantly just getting lectured that we have to put up with these assholes making our lives worse

Imagine if NPR had actually talked to safe streets advocates for this story and learned how the solutions to drivers killing people is not, in fact, victim blaming

You've heard of defensive driving — driving practices to help you stay safe on the road, like reducing your speed in bad weather or signaling before switching lanes. But what about defensive walking and cycling?
