This and there, here and there.

I do some writing stuff with NPR, I do some radio stuff with Spinitron, and I do a lot of other boring stuff for other companies.
The bummer I’ve felt doing these public media article wrapups on Bluesky the past two years is how few of the stations have accounts. If @npr.org can do it, so can you, local station! Promoters and music folk- do what you can to encourage them. I try to mention it at the end of my interviews now

Was my 7th year having the privilege to write for 2 public media support orgs, the noncomMUSIC Alliance & the Alliance of Rural Media. I got to talk to a diverse set of people across the country about the unique joy of public radio. It was heartbreaking year but there is still enough to celebrate:

We Must Save Public Media to Change It
We need public media more than ever—it’s too precious to let Trump defund it. But to live up to its democratic promise, we must support public media to serve our needs.

Only $199 away now- help support one of the most steadfastly supportive literary magazines out there celebrate a decade of helping underrepresented artists find an audience
I’m $299 away from reaching my fundraising goal for @theoffingmag.bsky.social! Anything you chip in will go directly toward paying writers and artists. As a community-funded literary magazine, we’re grateful for your support.

Donations are tax-deductible.

The final breakdown: 15 stories, 17 stations featured (plus 2 extra pulled in from past stories), and 21 people interviewed. And we’ve already got a few lined up for 2025! I know it’s cliched but I’m really honored to help share these stories and support put these amazing public radio alliances!
Looking at what I'm thankful for in this infuriating year and I realized that I wrote more about noncomm radio than I ever have in the 6 years I've had the privilege. 13 stories & 15 stations (+ maybe more to come) so I wanted to share them in the spirit of connecting to the new audience on Bluesky

The Offing has been transformative for countless artists and most importantly to me, has made @mimiwong.bsky.social’s and my lives so much richer. Ten years of elevating artists who deserve accolades when other parts of the industry won’t should warrant a small donation or two, don’t you think
To celebrate @theoffingmag.bsky.social’s upcoming 10-year anniversary and my 10 years volunteering at the magazine (I can’t believe it’s been that long already!), I’m trying to raise $2000. Your support will be able to take us into the next decade!

This piece of mine, my only meaningful work of erasure really, has had a long life. People write to me about it all the time. It's an erasure of a page of the application to become a naturalized US citizen; I made it in 2017 and it's feeling relevant again

Here’s my specific Pitchfork appreciation post: @marchogan.bsky.social was one of the only music writers to report on me and my coworkers’ lawsuit to expose Adam Klein and his crimes during his time at CMJ which at the time was a truly meaningful, validating thing at a really dark time of my life
