A big whack to Business As Usual.. we have been in this crisis for a long time (since Reagan's election?). Powell memo? Dissolution may be our way forward, they have the guns and nukes.

The GOP has put the federal government on a war footing in relation to cities and states that didn’t vote for them, and then Republicans lament that we seem to be sliding into Civil war. It’s like if a Confederate had been elected president in 1860 and immediately started invading Northern cities.

I read Cartledge's "Democracy" 1st description i have seen on how the Greeks actually ran things. Citizens were randomly selected and were compensated to sit in positions of responsibility. Just saying it considers the shortcoming of a system we have that selects for egotists.
