Aunt May's house is on an MTG card!
Wizards modeled the house to look similar to older versions from the comics - some of which included a turret.
At the time, I wanted to get a greyhound, hence the dog walker insert :) We ended up getting a golden retriever!

My understanding is that publishing rates for illustration largely hasn’t changed in 100 years.
I don’t mean that it kept up with inflation, I mean that after the camera came along the rates did not increase over the next 100 years. And those were the GOOD jobs. Many places paid less.

These are spreads for McCall's magazine by Andy Virgil, 1959. Each spread was paying about $1,500 at that time. Today that would be between $9,000-$12,000. The average price of a brand new car in 1959 was $2,200.
