The launch was 2:03 a.m. EST. Less than 18 hours later, SpaceX is scheduled for its 7th test flight of Starship. Launch countdown is on for a 5:37 p.m. EST launch.

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson says the US will still put humans back on the Moon before China.

NASA says it has found the root cause of the problems with the heat shield. Because there was so much heat on reentry from the Moon, gases formed and were trapped in the shield. Those gases caused cracking and uneven shedding of the ablative material.

The delay is mostly due to the heat shield issues during the uncrewed Artemis I mission. Here is a piece from a year and a half ago on heat shield.
