Only new years resolution I've made this year is to try and read more books. Used to get though 30-40 a year but thats dropped to 10-15 over the last few years
First book finished is this on Englands World Cup win. Decent read and covered lots I wasn't familiar with despite how well known it all is

Said for ages that I would vote for a party that promised to do nothing but fix the basic running of the state. We could get huge improvements just by doing that instead of another major policy change which almost always gets badly implemented and often breaks more things. See below for an example
As set out in this thread, the causes of the court backlog are chronic lack of funding and absurd inefficiency.
The government has made no proposals to address either. Their answer is to remove juries.
