Balding tech fan, annoying leftie, all views my own. Ex-journalist, once told by a cabinet minister to 'go fk himself' - Sailor.
Erm, pretty much what I thought (I was nerdy enough to check the existing criteria). And I don't even think the *volunteering* element is compulsory...if so, It would be like trying to obtain citizenship in Ireland where it is *encouraged* - I know, a (British) friend of mine is doing just that.

I've just listened to a clip of him speaking - extraordinarily impressive...

But *sooo* worth it to get up Zuck's nose...(although he'll leave his minions to deal with it no doubt)...😂
June 26, 2025 at 8:53 AM
Thanks for that. It's (however) a wee bit more complicated than that...😀

I will. The FB numpties say you should write a (solicitor's) letter to them if you have a complaint. Just gathering ammo...😃

A sort of *anti-Godfather* move - *I'll make him an offer I know he will refuse*...😅

I'm visiting Ireland in August (house hunting in the west for when I retire). But it seems like the perfect opportunity to go and have a moan at Facebook/Meta at their European HQ in Dublin after they (inexplicably) suspended my account after I was hacked. Wish me luck!!

Bourne out (anecdotally) by a Ukranian newsletter which I have the pleasure of editing each month for the local authority I work for. They have settled and prospered and are a vibrant part of our community.

My dad (now aged 89) saw him drive. He said he was the greatest racing driver he had ever seen (with the possible exception of Jim Clark).

And a *Trumpet* fan too...(see my bio pic, albeit taken 35 years ago)...3TA if interested.😃

Just *imagine* (if you will) the fk-ups these people will be responsible for if they ever get their hands on the levers of power...almost makes you proud to the British (almost)...😂

My *get the fk out of Dodge and retire to Ireland when I hit 67 in May 2029* looks like an extremely wise policy. Onwards to Irish citizenship five years after that too...
April 25, 2025 at 4:19 PM
The (ludicrous) commentators on the Telegraph are speculating that English folk are leaving the UK because *taxes*...no guys, it's because you stole opportunities from *us* - and this is why we despise you...
April 24, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Not *lost* merely *delayed* (in the sense that I'm emigrating to Ireland) post retirement, and (hopefully) regaining my European citizenship after five years...Labour is pandering to the wrong people...and their strategic choices will come back to bite them...

2/ The Brexit vote destroyed my long held dream of retiring to Spain...(a reward, I thought, for a lifetime of work in local journalism, where the money is rubbish)...When Labour betrayed me, I thought *fk em, just fk em* - I have not recanted from that view...
April 24, 2025 at 6:02 PM
1/ A little bit about me. I (of course) voted *Remain* in 2016. I'm a (so called) *middle class* professional - although, being a local journalist for years does not mean *pay* is any good (spoiler, it is not)...
April 24, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Who cares? Fk 'em...
April 24, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Well, yes. This is why I'm emigrating to Ireland when I retire (63 now) with the hope of gaining Irish citizenship after five years of *reckonable residency* - England can then go fk itself quite frankly...

Johnson?
April 24, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Oh great...why didn't the folks in 1946/47 not listen to the *Anglo-Indian* community (who, very *on-point*) were dead set against partition...honourable mention to Frank Anthony from the Anglo Indian community over this (he died in the 90s from memory)...

McSweeney is terrified of Farage in the so called *Red Wall*...and he informs Starmer's thinking...
April 24, 2025 at 5:01 PM
2/I live on my own in a flat and my dad is (very) elderly now (89 this year) and he can't climb stairs. So 63-year-old me has (finally) had to learn how to use a drill (what's this thing called a *chuck?*)...don't judge me...😂
April 24, 2025 at 4:39 PM
1/True story incoming...my dad was a factory worker (he's retired now) and could do literally anything with his hands. Bricklaying, no problem, plastering (I laugh at you), rewiring a boat (in your face boat rewiring)...his son (me) however was useless...
April 24, 2025 at 4:37 PM
That speech made 21-year-old me join the Labour Party...it all seems a very long time ago now...
April 24, 2025 at 4:26 PM
Btw, Matt D'Ancona's piece in the New European on this issue is spot on...
