I assume this is part of the Hanwell art installation six piece art installation. Could do with some #CoulourBlindAwareness as, from a distance, it just says The Music, The Languages to me.
Large sign in a flower bed which reads THE MUSIC, THE FLAVOURS, THE LANGUAGES on white, purple and red on a brown background which has almost the same contrast level as the brown.

Just watched Chicago PD season 12 ep. 2, "Blood Bleeds Blue" and it was genuinely gripping from start to finish. Probably the best single episode of the entire Chicago franchise.

Quite astounding that with 82,000 people expected to attend Twickenham for the #RWC25 final on Saturday, #TFL have gone ahead with a full Piccadilly Line closure.
Instructions from Twickenham Stadium suggesting 4 tube options, two of which are on the Piccadilly Line Piccadilly line

The following closures are due to track work for the Piccadilly_line upgrade works.

Friday 26 into Saturday 27 September

No Friday Night Tube service between King's Cross St Pancras and Heathrow
Use alternative Night Tube or Night Bus services. Rail replacement buses will run.

Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September

No service between King's Cross St Pancras and Osterley/Uxbridge, including during
Saturday Night Tube
Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes.
Rail replacement buses will run. Customers travelling between central London and Heathrow should use Elizabeth line services.

We need some visionary leadership. A path to set out a clear, positive, sustainable future for all of us. Not implementing bad policies to try to win votes from the lowest common denominator. I don’t know if the Greens can ultimately pull this off, but I don’t see anyone else even trying.

It genuinely sickens me that 30% of the country would, today, vote for a chancer, privately educated, ex-stockbroker “man of the people”, or 100k would take to the streets to support Yaxley-Lennon. Enough of grievance-based, selfish politics. We can see from the US how dark this path can be.

Nearly 60 and in a well-paid job but paying a fortune in rent for a little house that I could still be priced out of as wages are stagnant but prices still rise. After years of Brexit, Tory crises/mismanagement, we now have a Labour govt that have thoroughly disappointed. Only Greens give me hope.

How do we fix this mess?

What drives Tump and Kennedy to do something as abhorrent as this? This wanton destruction is likely to harm cancer research for decades to come. Why is the Trump’s GOP pro-cancer?

David Cameron’s reckless decision to hold an in-out EU referendum to once and for all make the UKIPpers happy is, time and again, shown to be one of the most naive political decisions in history.

"If you've had enough of politicians, if you don't trust Westminster, join us."

What a revolting, cynical statement for a man who was an MP of the party that ruled for 14 years until five minutes ago - and David Cameron's speech writer before that.

What contempt for voters. ~AA

What a thrilling finish to the game. Congrats France, commiserations to a devastated Ireland side. #RWC25

I’d like to think so, but the goings on in the US have shocked me out of any complacency that generally decent people can’t be swung from a normal to an extreme position quite quickly by the “right” leader.

If Brian Kilmeade can escape any consequences for espousing involuntary lethal injection for homeless people, it’s a pretty clear sign that Trump’s America is past the point of no return. For all of the terrible things done this year, it is the lack of consequences for anyone that is just chilling.

Brian Kilmeade endorses euthanizing homeless people: "Involuntary lethal injection, or something. Just kill them."

Caught @natashadevon.bsky.social on LBC and I have to take issue with the phrase “we’re better than that”.
I kid myself that most people are good and want themselves and others to have a happy life. But 30% would vote for Farage, and 100k came out for Yaxley-Lennon, so I don’t think we are.

Why are all timetabling apps showing no train service at all on the Greenford Branch, but I can’t find anything about any disruption, either.
davidxbuck.bsky.social
Between stopping foreign aid, stopping medical research, eliminating environmental protections, etc., etc. the death toll associated with Trump’s policies is going to make the effects of war look trivial in comparison.

Was wondering why #BrainofBritain didn’t start this week, and the answer seems to be that it might not start at all. I guess we may never hear another series of #RBQ either. www.bbc.co.uk/commissionin...

It was an abysmal experience on the #ElizabethLine earlier but I’m glad that I’m already at home so I don’t have to rely on the approximate timing of the last train.
ELIZABETH LINE: Monday 8, Tuesday 9
and Wednesday 10 September, after 2200 each evening, a reduced service operates between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4 / Maidenhead. Two trains per hour serve Heathrow Terminal 4, West Drayton, Langley, Slough, Burnham and Maidenhead. Four trains per hour serve Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3. Six trains an hour serve Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hayes & Harlington. There will be no trains at Acton Main Line, West Ealing and Hanwell after approximately 2300.
Between Ealing Broadway and Langley, some trains may depart from a different platform than usual. Please check the departure screens or speak with a member of staff to ensure you wait on the correct platform.

New signage next to Hanwell Station has suddenly appeared.
“This is the Village in the City”
davidxbuck.bsky.social
So many people on the train by Acton Main Line that lots of people couldn’t get on. One woman in the doorway had a brief, loud panic attack as so many people did cram on. There just aren’t enough trains.
davidxbuck.bsky.social
5 Trailfinders players on the Scotland team, 1for Canada plus the 24/25 players Tyson Beukeboom and Chloe Rollie. I think this is going to be a great competition.
davidxbuck.bsky.social
The #ElizabethLine is definitely a success. #Hanwell is absolutely packed at rush hour but busy outside of that and at weekends. It’s about time for #TFL to stop terminating so many westbound trains at Paddington and give us (and Acton Main Line) a more frequent service.
At least 200 people waiting at Hanwell Station for the train to Paddington
