NHS Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Government Emergency Alerts and Domestic Abuse On the 7 September 2025 at 3pm, the government will be testing the emergency alert system to activate phones and tablets with a loud alert. If you have one hidden from an abusive partner, switch it off. It will alert even if it's on silent or disconnected from data and wifi. How to opt out of emergency alerts: ! Android · Open the settings app · Search 'emergency alerts' · Select emergency alerts and from here you can turn them off . Tap the toggles on the right. If they are grey, this means they are switched off. iPhone · Open the settings app · Tap on notifications . Scroll to the bottom of the page. There'll be an emergency alert section . A photograph of Brighton Pier from the sea. It is twilight and there is a starling murmuration above a section of the pier. People can be seen on the deck and the lights of the pier are reflecting in the water beneath. A view of a small section of Brighton Pier from the sea. You can see the heater skelter, the back of the ghost train with a mural painted on, and a part of a roller coaster. There is a starling murmuration spreading across the picture from side to side. The rest is just sea and sky. A huge number of starlings swooping past Brighton Pier at twilight. The sky is absolutely full of them. The picture is taken from low down in the water and there are lots of little blurry reflections of the starlings in the sea as well. A picture of Brighton seafront and the i360 at sunset, as seen from the sea. In between the sea and the clouds in the sky are a small group of starlings beginning to gather for the murmuration.
