In the face of everything one thing I am looking forward to is the pair of Black history month displays I have planned for the library next month.

One is on little known Black history figures, the other is on Timbuktu and the Mali empire. It's a small measure of resistance but it's mine.

Reminder: Kristin Beck, a retired transgender U.S. Navy SEAL, served for 20 years as part of SEAL Team Six, one of the most elite units in the military. During her service, Beck earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, among other honors, for her courage and dedication in combat operations.

Just imagine.
