I'm still getting vgen stuff set up but while I work that out I'm going to try managing this the way I have in the past but with a better, simplified price page and reduced prices.

I have 4 slots remaining for anyone who wants them. If this goes well more may open in the future.
Sarah is one of the more multi-skilled folks I know and definitely someone you should be supporting all year but especially throw a sister a bone in BHM. Come on!
I learned this morning that I'm furloughed again due to the partial government shutdown which means my check tomorrow might be my last one for a while. 🙃

So, with that in mind......

I have so much I could say on this and there's a lot of people I know who would not be happy about it.
Media coverage of Gaza has plummeted. So today on @thenation.com, we're doing something pretty special: we're only running pieces by people in and from Gaza.

We're calling it "A Day for Gaza." You can find links to all of the incredible pieces here. Please read! www.thenation.com/article/worl...
A Day for Gaza
Today, The Nation is turning over its website exclusively to stories from Gaza and its people. This is why.

I went back and forth about whether to post this or not but I don't know, maybe it helps someone else. One of my friends suggested some of these feelings of inadequacy come from fixating too much on what makes it socials.

But this question of "should I be doing more" keeps nagging me.

twitter must be dead dead cause someone posted a rat coin purse that would have 2019 twitter losing its collective mind and most of the top comments are bots saying random words or people not nearly amped enough about the rat coin purse

This is why I couldn't run for anything in Missouri. I hate it here.
this is a very cool thing to do and also highlights one of the biggest keys to Zohran's appeal: he just thinks New York City is really neat

people who live somewhere want to vote for someone who likes it there and wants to make it better, not someone who wants to use it as a springboard
It’s your city, from the sidewalk to the skyline. The David Dinkins Municipal Building’s rooftop is open & free to everyone, starting this June.

Man, today has been real productive. I got up, read the news, cleaned my bathroom, did dishes, went grocery shopping and am currently folding and putting away laundry... and I still feel like I haven't done enough with my day (I do still have some art to finish).

That feeling is bullshit! lol.

Everyone's struggling & the world's on fire so I'm sorry to ask, but I need your help again.

If you could donate and/or share my Go Fund Me campaign, it would go a long way to helping me pay for increased costs for my breast cancer treatment. Details in my update.

Completely lost on the 77M Americans who voted for this nightmare is that Habeas Corpus is a critical underpinning of our legal system.

We don't exist as a free society without the right to challenge unlawful imprisonment. It's crazy that 41% of Americans approve of this unlawful presidency.
Beyond your 6th Amendment right to an attorney, this seems like a violation of Article 1 protected Habeas Corpus rights. How can you file a Habeas petition if you’re held incommunicado?
Lawyers can't reach clients in ICE detention. I've heard it anecdotally, but scale of issue is horrifying.

Bloomberg Law is a legal trade pub so many may miss this. Screenshot from their CA newsletter summarizes "bleak" situation for justice and rule of law.

This is unequivocally good. It should've never happened in the first place and we shouldn't stop until these concentration camps are demolished and all their people freed.

Everyone has to understand the republicans are utter ghouls and must be electorally punished for this.
Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

It's funny to think about how growing up my mom had so many of these on her bookshelf. I didn't realize it at the time but these covers, even before I read the books would set the groundwork for me becoming an illustrator.

It'd be a long time before I realized who Michael Whelan was...
Taking a look back at The White Dragon, the Anne McCaffrey book that changed everything, as we review the 20 covers published in the year 1978 in this week's newsletter:

Hi guys! There was confusion about the blind auction, so I'll be doing this as a live auction instead. Bidding has opened at 1000 USD; please contact me to place a bid.

The auction will end on 1/31 10pm PST. Bids placed in the last 10 mins will extend the time by 10 mins.
Hello!! To kick off the Lorwyn release, I'll be doing a blind auction for this process sketch for Dawnhand Eulogist. This is a sketch I did for the final painting to scan and paint over, touched up to make it look nice : ) It is graphite on masonite board.

A good thread and it ties to a thing Syn and I talked about recently that I'm still noodling on.

There's a phrase that "laws are threats" that I think got popular in a lot of nerd spaces thanks to Brennan Lee Mulligan and I think, idea wise comes from Foucalt.

But I don't think they have to be.
I want to take a moment to talk us through this thought and the term "politics" for a moment.

First let me say, this comment is part of a larger thread discussion. This comment is fine. This person is okay. Nothing bad there.

HOWEVER, "I don't consider [thing] political..." needs clarification. /1
And I will absolutely defend anyone's right to be in my space as long as they aren't being bigoted towards others. I don't consider that political. Just basic human decency.

This compliment was incredibly kind and since I'm in a bad mood today I definitely needed it to put a smile on my face.

With that said, I do want to talk a bit about this because the two anthropology classes did *so* much for the worldbuilding of #Ha-Nahn.
Literally I was just thinking how the depth of your art makes so much more sense because you took anthropology

Every Dem voted to strip that money. It was never going to pass in this Senate but at least they shot the shot.
👀 Every Senate Democrat + Collins and Murkowski just voted for the Bernie Sanders amendment to repeal the $75 billion in additional ICE funding under Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” The measure failed 49-51.

Here's an opportunity to support the other journalist arrested today; Georgia Fort, who will have far fewer resources available to her than Don Lemon.
Georgia Fort's is chilling, and it's being overshadowed by the equally chilling arrest of Don Lemon.

A GoFundMe is being set up for Fort. In the meantime, you can support her work directly – without paying massive fundraising platform fees – through her website:
