It sounds like it may take a big investment in infrastructure for the companies well before they make profits. Is it possible that they will decide against it?

At my institution, a “clinical professor” was a non-tenure track appointment, usually for physicians who mentored residents who roasted through their hospital or office. It doesn’t mean that they weren’t valuable, just that they weren’t held to the same standards as a professor.

I had people tell me that scientists just got money to do what they want with no plan or accountability, “unlike a business plan”. I had to tell them how each year is planned, along with alternatives if the plans don’t work, and there are annual progress reports. They were so surprised

I wish the anti-vax people would also learn about the R part of the MMR and the consequences of congenital rubella from the 1960’s epidemic.
