Seems Curlew Sandpiper are popular this week in the Severn Estuary. Three were spotted today at Clevedon Sea Wall amongst the usual Dunlin & Ringed Plover.

A bit gloomy at Clevedon Sea Wall this morning, definitely not photography weather! Lots of curlew, oystercatcher, dunlin, knot, redshank, a few little egret, a heron and a cormorant. Lots of meadow pipits and skylark flying around. #AvonBirds

13 black speckled Starling birds sit atop a golden wooden structure against a glorious blue sky. a lot of starlings sit on a slate-tiled roof. One is flying. Some are clinging on precariously. a flock of about 40 starlings fly through a cloudy grey white sky.

A Snipe at Slimbridge - very good at hiding behind a rock! Glad we spied it as it's a lifer!

On the way home from a short break in West Sussex we stopped at Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve and had a quick wander around a very small portion of it. A few birds spotted including some Godwit, Redshank, Curlew, a Dunlin.

Littlehampton West Beach Nature Reserve is a vast sandy beach with pebbles and large dunes. The beach hosts lots of birds including Ringed Plover, Oystercatcher , Turnstone, Godwit, Gulls and probably a lot more.

The mouth of the River Arun at Littlehampton has lots of wooden structures, which many birds like to sit on including Turnstone, Oystercatcher, Egrets various gulls.

Passing through the Portsmouth area today led to a quick stop at Farlington Marshes Nature Reserve. At high tide there were many hundreds of Black-Tailed Godwit, some Redshank, a few Curlew Sandpiper, a Little Stint and so much more.

First time I've seen a Nuthatch since getting more into birding about a year ago; but do have fond memories of them when I was young and lived in Anglia 25-30 years ago.
