How about now? (Sorry- I’m sticking with my gut prediction.)

A decently fun fact
From OptaSTATS: The Yankees are the first team in MLB postseason history to be down by 5+ runs and in danger of being swept and come back to win the game.

Teams had been 0-38 all-time when trailing by 5+ runs and trying to avoid a multi-game series sweep.

Yes, as much as I love the dude it's good that Weaver is nowhere close to factoring into the game plan here

Last three pitches from Williams to Varsho were at 97, which is as hard as he's been throwing all year.
Max velo by game for Devin Williams this year

I was hoping they'd go to Williams once they got to three batters with Hill. I'm guessing he's in for the 7th then Bednar for two.

Love Timmy Hill in general.

A tall ask, but stranger things have happened

Much was made of the Yankees' struggles against Gausman and Yesavage's splitters last week, and I'd expect a similar attack from Bieber tonight. He started throwing the kick-change this year, which in terms of movement profile is basically another splitter.

While again, pitcher-vs-batter is mostly noise, this part was fascinating to me. The three pitchers that Vlad speeds his bat up against the most ... have combined to never once ever strike him out.

I'm a little worried that he might be gassed. He looked completely spent in the 7th inning of last week's game. But, per my stated prediction, he'll find a way to get it done tonight, of course

How are Yankees fans feeling about this series? My gut tells me they'll win at home and lose in Game 5.

Yeah, if the Yankees don’t put up a fight this week and lose in this series, the prevailing memory of Judge will be him chasing Gausman’s split with the bases loaded. (Agreeing with your premise, just noting.)

Obviously the Yankees are extreme longshots to win and I don’t expect them to but I’m just going to keep thinking about the 2017 ALDS and drawing little parallels to it in my head.

Respectful disagreement.
