I have a 2015 15" MacBook Pro that I upgraded with a faster 1 TB SSD using an inexpensive adapter and installed a newer-technology battery. I installed Linux Mint, and it works very well. Ubuntu is very user-friendly as well.

I made one of these. I’ve been purchasing cheap used DVDs and Blu-rays for the past two months and converting them to MP4 files. I have 386 movies so far and a few complete seasons of some favorite shows. This is an ongoing project, and I have 8 TB of storage available.

When I left the group home at 18, I was homeless for about a year, hitchhiking across the country from Chicago to Tijuana. I ended up back in the Chicago suburbs. I was able to get a job washing windows downtown and a room to rent at my foreman's house. He really helped me.
