Whole point of the internet was that it was distributed and did not have a single point of failure. Capitalism has reversed this so that when a monopoly falls over, everything in the domain goes down at once.

one thing that i like about bsky.app (the app infra) is that it's hosted on actual machines owned by them so it's not dependant on cloudflare and other cloud providers, really stands out in moments like this
