Yes, the structural abandonment of the pandemic goes on and on and on, leading to personal, interpersonal, and intimate abandonment every single day. The trauma becomes internalized, leading to more trauma, and more abandonment.
It really feels like we don’t talk enough about how much COVID has fucked up our politics, our culture, and all of us personally. It’s not surprising considering how absolutely averse this country is to confronting trauma, but sometimes it still needs to be said.
