The great stretches of palm oil plantations you see as you fly into Kuala Lumpur are just staggering

I hate rating boards that let sit in judgement on those doing hard, underpaid and too often gross work - uber, food delivery, cleaners.

But i also hate the idea that whingers are marking cleaners down, so i end up voting 'excellent' to make sure jerks don't make lives harder. Dumb world.

Phnom Penh's new international airport is stunning and Cambodians are so proud.

I've never lived in a country that's so proud when something good happens. It is really nice....

And of course, this ain't nothing

I don't talk too much about having a #cleft as it's not a huge part of my identity, but this is pretty awesome. So many parents worry that their cleft kids will freak people out (not helped by every popular depiction of a cleft being a bad guy!) so this is very, very nice and great to see.

Better idea - just wait till it breaks.

Pretty depressing that this is true.

Why remember a legend of the AFL when you can promote a trans-fat riddled, cancer-causing pie?

Loving a bit of #aflw at Phnom Penh's very, very masculine sports bar.

It just really doesn't stop. There's no red line. It's just so, so awful.

Why are the democrats so relentlessly procedural in their attacks on Trump?!

This is a man literally selling influence for a pretty plane. Forget “congressional approval” - the man’s selling out your country, and you’re upset that he didn’t get the right paperwork.

Trend line on addressing climate no better....
March 18, 2025 at 2:25 AM
Over the last decade, the scientific certainty about climate change has become stronger and stronger - while the impacts have become clearer and clearer. Sadly, polling suggests Australians have become less convinced of this reality.

To celebrate #IWD25 I wrote a little article on my two heroes - Wangarĩ Maathai & Christiana Figueres. They are both wonderful, and I think about their lessons everyday - lnkd.in/guhMSYf3

I don’t see how Trump can backdown again, if he wants to continue to wield #tariffs as his most powerful weapon.

Hot take: The fight over LNG and gas’s role in our lives will be the key determinate of whether we have any chance of staying below 2 degrees.

Bonus: this advertisement makes me sick (and is profoundly poorly targeted, given I’m from Melbourne and live in Cambodia)

These enormous fans at train stations in Singapore are amazing. So refreshing, use next to to no power and are particularly effective when it’s hot.

📉 If we don't slash plastic production, it'll use up half of the remaining 1.5 budget (and that's only giving us a 50% chance of staying below 1.5, which seems like a dodgy measure to me!). We have no choice but to make big cuts, and there's no real pathway to decarbonisation.
November 29, 2024 at 8:31 AM

🛢️Plastics are fundamental to keeping the oil and gas industry alive, and are probably the last growth market for the industry. We shouldn't for a moment ignore the massive political force being brought to bear - probably stronger than those opposed to RE at this point.
