I think right now things are complicated by hegseth’s total incompetence and immorality, in contrast to Mark Kelly, who personifies the ethos we expect from the military. That’s what I hope lawmakers can’t avoid seeing, anyway.

I definitely appreciate that in resigning she stood up for her constituents, unlike almost every other republican in Congress.

It’s unbelievable. And maybe I’m out of the loop or something but I didn’t know what was happening until the vote was in process. Like the dems knew what they were doing was wrong and they didn’t want constituents to have time to object?

I can't believe these people plan to cave. A family member will have to pay something like $470 per month for ACA health care on a part-time salary of $26k per year. It's beyond disgusting.

I think right now some MAGAs who watch Fox Entertainment, or their family members, are losing their jobs or their health insurance is at risk. Their groceries are costing more. Maybe there are some who are feeling doubts, and Bernie Sanders does have a strong message.

I agree. It’s been very distressing to see all the carnage suffered by federal agencies. For right now, meeting with Trump wouldn’t have stopped the upcoming shutdown, but it would have highlighted the administration and House Republicans’s tactics. Now a letter is all that’s left of that idea.
