I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

We ask how people with so much can be so vicious, as they slash programs and fire federal employees without cause. Greed, sure, but they also picture themselves as lords with total power over what they hope will be our impoverished little lives.

Breaking down why I am voting NO on the Republican “government funding” bill…

The BPA is self-funded, so these cuts by the dogebags are meant specifically to harm citizens who live in the Pacific NW.

Trump ‘plays with fire’ in cutting Bonneville Power Administration, insiders say
“This whole exercise would be ludicrous if it weren’t so serious,” said Randy Hardy, who headed BPA in the 1990s. “Cuts to this kind of thing plays with fire.”

Shout out to MoveOn.org! I joined their event this morning to call voters in swing states to urge them to tell their senators to vote no on Russell Vought's confirmation as head of OMB. MoveOn patches them through to their senator's phone line if they agree. 40K people did; glad I participated!

Global Sea Surface Temperatures are far less variable from month-to-month than Surface Air Temperatures & show clear cooling trend over the past year as we transition from El Nino to La Nina (left).

It's the longer-term warming trend (right) that we should be focused on.

Truth is bad enough!

I've emailed and called my senators and congressional representative, urging them to do everything they can to stop this coup. What else are people doing?

In the hot tub at the gym today, I met a man who described himself as a Reagan Republican, meaning that he supported democracy and the rule of law. He is very angry about the actions the new administration is taking, and he described how he plans to oppose what it's doing. It was good to hear!

I feel like this is a hostile takeover of the federal government and that the military should intervene on behalf of the American people while they still can.

I haven't yet figured out how I can make a difference in our new reality of hatred, greedy, ugly billionaires, and the Trump regime's push toward autocracy. But I did one small thing by creating an account on libro.fm and purchasing my first audiobook there. Bye Audible.com and f* Jeff Bezos!

President Joe Biden has pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, using the extraordinary powers of his office to guard against potential “revenge” by Trump. apnews.com/article/bide...

Reading “Nuclear War - A Scenario” by Annie Jacobsen, during the Hegseth confirmation hearing. Just the drunken guy you want advising a clueless Donald Trump after a possible nuclear first strike missile launch has been detected.

Thinking about the January 6, 2021 MAGA assault on the capitol. Here's an essay by one of the police officers who was wounded and ultimately had to leave his job as a result of the violence perpetrated by the mob: www.nytimes.com/2025/01/05/o...

Donald Trump is promising to pardon Jan. 6 rioters. But we can’t let him rewrite history.
