Peanuts did that (but they put a Peanuts logo in the corner themselves). You can find a lot of examples of that on a lot of old newspaper strips.

I think that I read the strips from this book in the Fawcett Crest books that borrowed from this one before I ever saw the complete version of it at our local library.
