This might look a bit obscure, it’s a mirror against a wall in my central hallway reflecting the wood burner flame. It’s so I can see when I need to feed the flame from the comfort of my bed. Ok it’s Sunday, lie in day ok. Aaand 5deg still.

Does anyone in Ōtepoti recognize this house? Back in 1995 my dad took me to see it, recalling fond memories of a holiday to rellies who lived there in the 1920’s. Would love to know who they were, but not sure where to start. Thanks.

I guess we had variations from this list when we were growing up. I found this card yesterday when getting rid of recipe books. Dad probably ‘helpfully’ wrote this list to give mum some ideas. Gee I bet she was grateful.

A bit pleased with myself. Macrocarpa slab from a stand of trees my ol’ dad planted in 1950. I think he’d be pleased with the outcome too.
