My point and yours are functionally the same - the health of our democracy is intrinsically linked to that of the BBC. I am in no doubt that both are in poor health. My point is the BBC needs saving, not defunding.

• In Pokrovsk: the south and southwest are under the control of the occupiers; the center, around the railway - a gray zone; the north is under the control of the Defense Forces.

Just look at what's happening in Myrnohrad.
Spare a thought for defenders there who don't have equal firepower.

Russia attempts to obliterate anything standing to force Ukraine's troops out.

If Ukraine had been allowed to hit airfields 2 years ago it'd have been different.

I think the way that they work, it's pretty inevitable. The result will be further timidity and irrelevance in the public eye. The charter needs a rethink. Exec hires need to be better vetted. They aren't equipped to handle today's world. It needs work, but I genuinely think we need a healthy BBC.

Your mention of the BBC at the end of your video: "...but which we still need".

I couldn't agree more.

It is in poor health, agreed. A multi-faceted problem, too.

But those arguing the BBC should be defunded either desire the complete downfall of UK democracy, or don't understand the implications of what they're asking for.
